3 hours of utter horrible hell laying grotty horrible bituminous paint, then gritty, sandy underlay, then more of the godforsaken horrible black gunk, then felt with grit in – grit which chafes your legs and bites your knees… black stuff stuck to your legs and burning… washed off with white spirit – which burns the scratches and scrapes on your legs then a shower under a hose in the back yard… Yes I’ve got a roof, but I feel I may have lost something of myself!
